First off on this Veterans Day 2019, thank you to all our veterans who have served our country with honor. We can only do what we do because of what you did for us. Our utmost thanks and respect to you all!
It was a pleasure to return to The Rock in Sun Prairie last Saturday night. We want to say thank you to all of our friends who turned out again to see us - we can't even begin to tell you how much that means to us! Thanks also to all the new faces in the crowd, especially Jon and Morgan who just moved here and discovered that Sun Prairie knows how to party with 5th GEAR! Big shout out to Lee on sound and Tracy on lights for another stellar job. We need to send the biggest thanks to our lead singer Tim, who was battling a nasty virus that almost caused us to cancel the show. When he realized we wouldn't be able to cover it without him, he didn't want to let everyone down so he strapped it up and came out even though he felt like total crap. It was a gutty performance and he did such a good job that most of you didn't even know he was ill. Great job Tim, you earned our respect for sticking with it!
Alright gang, we're off for a few weeks to heal up and learn some new tunes. We'll be back at it at The Head Inn Sports Bar in Poynette on December 14th for an 8:30 p.m. show. Help us get revved up for Christmas - let's "Rock the Country" together!
Hi guys. We played a new venue last Saturday evening, The Knucklehead Pub in Eagle, WI, about a half hour from Milwaukee in the Kettle Moraine area. The crowd was middlin' what with it being our first time there, but what a super-nice venue for live music! Large stage and dance floor and lots of seating around the bar, plus a friendly, helpful staff. Carissa, Angelek and Forrest kept the Fireball flowing all night - thanks guys! Special thanks to owner Melissa for bringing us in. We're likely to return, probably in March. We're aiming to build a following in the greater Milwaukee area that is as large and loyal as you guys, our Madison area Gearhead friends. Thanks again to everyone at Knucklehead Pub - good people!
Next up is a 9:00 p.m. show this Saturday, Nov. 9th at The Rock Sports Bar & Grille in Sun Prairie. It's been over a year since we've visited The Rock so we're looking forward to this one. Big club right on the Main drag downtown, it's Sun Prairie's best live music venue. Come on out and help us "Rock the Country" - see you there!
Hello friends. What a party at the Dorf Haus last Saturday night! The 2019 Sauk Firemen's Halloween Dance was a huge success and the stars of the show were YOU GUYS! Amazing costumes, creative, cool and mostly darn funny! We've posted over 200 pics from the show. This is way more than we usually post, but there were just so many great photos we felt we had to share them with you. Check out these great pics on our Photos page.
Coming up this Saturday night, Nov. 2nd is a 9:00 p.m. show at Knucklehead Pub in Eagle, WI. It's our first time at this venue and we've heard a lot of good things about the crowd and vibe there. We're looking forward to bringing the Rockin' Country Party to Eagle - join us!
Hi gang! We had a fun night at Bowlavard last Saturday. With a 2:30 Badger game that day, the crowd was a bit lighter than usual but we still had a good sized group of rowdies to party with. What can we say about our bro Charles Thomas, he really brings it when he comes up for a song and Saturday was no different. Thanks Charles! We debuted a new shirt style at our merch table and sales were brisk - check out the Photos page for pics of some lovely ladies emphasizing their goodliness in a 5th GEAR tee, as well as some other great "shots" (umm, Fireball) from the show. Thanks to everybody who came out and especially to those who purchased one of the new shirts - get yours at the next show!
Halloween is almost here and we're back again at the Sauk Fireman's Halloween Dance for an 8:30 p.m. show at the Dorfhaus in little Roxbury, WI, just a few minutes from Sauk City on County Hwy Y. It's a costume party and of course they'll be giving away some great prizes again this year. Wear your costume to the show and you could go home a big winner. We'll post pics of the best costumes after the show - see you there!
Hey guys, we had a couple of really fun shows over the weekend. While playing the Mississippi Moon Bar at Diamond Jo Casino in Dubuque on Friday night and Head Inn Sports Bar & Grill in Poynette on Saturday evening, we managed to get our party on across two states! Not bad for a bunch of homies, ay? Our photographers Ronda Grinde on Friday & Carroll Towle on Saturday managed to click several cool moments - check 'em out on our Photos page. BTW, Happy B-day to our own Steve Wiggins, as well as Jessica and all the rest of the birthday celebrators - we had a slew of birthdays at Head Inn! Our thanks to our agent John for getting us the show at Diamond Jo and to Heather and Tyler for hosting us at Head Inn!
After a very busy summer, we're off until our first fall indoor show at Bowlavard on Madison's fashionable east side on Saturday, October 12th at 9:00 p.m. Join us in one of Madison's finest live music showrooms - we'll leave the light on for ya!
We didn't get a chance to sample the food menu at Waterloo Weiner & Kraut Fest last Saturday night, but we had a good time anyway with a nice crowd of local music lovers partying with us throughout the evening. Many thanks to Gabe at the Chamber of Commerce for having us and to everyone who came out to the show. We also appreciated Mark Schulz who filled in for Tracy on lights - thanks Mark!
This Friday at 8:00 p.m. we'll be back at The Mississippi Moon Bar at Diamond Jo Casino in Dubuque. Then Saturday it's an 8:30 p.m. show with our friends in Poynette at Head Inn . Summer is winding down but we're not - join us!
Wow, two shows over the last two days, two great parties. Saturday was the Cow Chip festival over in Sauk, and we had a large crowd of ready-to-rock crazies dancing and singing along with every song all night long. Thanks to Tywanna at the Sauk Prairie Chamber of Commerce for bringing us in, we had a blast! Thanks also to James at J. Stevens productions for providing the stage, and to Tracy and Lee, our production crew who arrived in the morning and stayed all day and through the night to make it all work. Thanks guys!
Sunday we trekked back down to Sunset Bar & Grill on Lake Koshkonong to spend the afternoon carousing on the sunny lake shore. Sunset has such an incredible crew that keeps the day cruising along on overdrive, from mixing and serving those beach cocktails to pouring shots right into waiting customers mouths. Very special thanks to these lovely ladies who did all the hard lifting: Emily, Brooke, Jocelyn, Nici, Kayla, Francesca, Sandy, Steph, Brittany, & Terri - you girls are the best! Thanks especially to Owner Rick and manager/head facilitator Ken for having us out and putting us on that beachfront stage. We look forward to more big shows at Sunset next summer! Want to see some fun pics from both weekend shows? Just check out our Photos page!
After three shows over the last four days, we're looking forward to taking the next weekend off. We'll get back at it on Saturday, September 14th at 8:00 p.m at the Waterloo Weiner & Kraut Festival. Join us for dogs and beer!
What does the weatherman know, really? Severe storms forecast for showtime last night for once did not appear. Windy but warm weather persisted throughout the beautiful evening and we shared it with another very large crowd of Gearheads eager to get the Labor Day weekend started early. We are humbled and gratified by the incredible turnout at our recent shows and want to thank everyone who comes out, you guys are the bomb! Special thanks last night to two talented Madison musicians who came up and shared the stage perfoming a song or two with us. Rachelle Fiskey of Rachelle and the Rattlers and Charles Thomas of Lube and Angels & Outlaws. Our Madison music community is alive and well. Great to see some of our other friends from the Rattlers too, as well as the boys from Cherry Pie. Can't forget standout fan "Fast Eddie", a guy who dresses as flamboyantly as he dances - way to go Ed! It was good to see former Bowlavard manager Ryan come home to roost too! We'd be remiss if we didn't mention the girl who serves Fireball with a big smile while "rockin' that tee-shirt", bartender Cole. She and the rest of her pals behind the bar were hustling all night long - outstanding service at Bowlavard! Check out the Photos page for some great pics from last night's show.
No time to rest, we're playing again tomorrow night, 8:00 p.m. at the Wisconsin State Cow Chip Festival in Sauk Prairie, then Sunday at 2:00 p.m. we return to the Sunset Bar & Grill on the shores of Lake Koshkonong. You can't go wrong with either of these fun-filled shows. In fact, why not make it out to both? Summer's ending but the party continues - Rock on Gearheads!
We've done shows before where we had a Bachelorette Party drop in, and we've done shows where we've had both a Bachelorette AND a Bachelor Party show up at the same time. Saturday night at Edge-O-Dells Bar & Resort was the first time we've had THREE Bachelorette Parties show up at the same show, and "Oh My", girls just wanna' have fun! Congrats to the brides to be, and thanks to all of you girls for making Saturday night a blast! Special thanks also to Edge owner Ken Roberts for hosting the show, and also to his hustling bartenders, especially Mandi who pours one kick-ass shot of Fireball - thanks Mandi! We'll also throw a 5th GEAR shout-out to Cheese on the sound board who did an outstanding job filling in for the show. We've posted some fun pics of all that female funtime on our Photos page, so be sure to check 'em out.
Coming up this Thursday evening, Aug. 29th at 6:30 p.m. is Bowlavard Bike Night on East Springs drive in Madison. Last time we played Bowlavard's Bike Night we set an all-time Thursday Bike Night attendance record there, so we're hoping you guys will all come out Thursday and help us TOP that record - Party on!
Last night was our first time playing at The Anchor Inn Bar and Grill on the Rock River in Newville, near Edgerton. Unique setup with the stage being in the water and the crowd on the shoreline and very cool! Had a blast with a great crowd, including Bert at the outside bar, Michelle and Audrey, Steve and Kara and Sabrina, Bob and Denise, Reed and Phil (Hey Dirk!), outside bartender Sydney (thanks for those BIG Fireball shots, Syd!) and many, many more. Anchor Bar Manager Melanie said it was a great crowd and they were very pleased with the turnout. We want to thank Melanie, the staff and all the fans for all the nice comments regarding the band - we love you guys too! Check out the Photos page for some incredibly cool pics of the show, including some really fun crowd shots. Our thanks to photographer Carroll Towle, who may have outdone herself this time on the pics - great job Carroll.
We hope to return to the Anchor very soon!
Hey guys, coming up next Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. is another very cool outdoor venue, it's the Edge-O-Dells Bar & Resort. Only one mile to the left off Interstate 94 exit 85 on Hwy 12/16, just outside the Dells. Largest outdoor bar patio that we know of, it's covered if there's rain yet completely outdoors. The show goes on rain or shine, so get your little tushies in the micro bus and trek it to Edge-O-Dells, cuz we and Fireball will be looking for you!
Beautiful weather in a beautiful setting perfectly describes our day at Sunset Bar last Saturday afternoon. We had a great time soaking up some rays and tipping a few cold ones on the sandy shore of Lake Koshkonong. We extend our thanks to manager Kenny for bringing us back to the Sunset again, and also to his staff of lovely ladies who buzzed around those tables serving drinks all day long. We'll be back at Sunset on Sunday, Sept. 1st, Labor Day weekend. Pics from Saturday's show here!
Coming up at 7:00 p.m. Saturday night , August 17th is The Anchor, a bar on the Rock River with another nice outdoor party area. Located on Hwy 59 just off Interstate 90 at the Whitewater exit. Join us for summer fun in the country!
Rain, rain, go away! Once again mother nature delivered rain at the worst possible time. Beautiful weather all week, then BAM! Thunderstorm at showtime yet again. This time it was the Arlington Festival and unfortunately for this Arlington Fire Department fundraiser they had to cancel the truck pull, which normally brings in a lot of revenue when the weather cooperates. The saving grace was all the folks who showed up for our show in spite of the rain, which didn't quit until after 10 p.m. With Charles Thomas graciously filling in for Michael Vett on Lead Guitar (thank you Charles!) we rocked until nearly 1:00 a.m. with a large crowd of Gearheads. Some folks who we've not seen in awhile as well as plenty of regulars came out to the show. It was good to see them all. Like Sam, Holly, Ashley and Kirsten, Chet ,Nancy, Grant & Lydia, Pete and Bethany, Doug & Margo, Lindsey, Kevin, Nicole & Ronda, Eric and many more. Thanks to the Arlington Fire Department and Fire Chief Joe for having us at the festival.
We hope to be back at Arlington Fest again!
Next up is the Lodi EMS Corn Boil, a fundraiser being held at KD's Bar & Grill in Lodi, WI this Thursday, August 8th at 6:00 p.m. It's an outdoor show in the middle of our home turf and should be a nice early start to the weekend, so come out and party with us to help in this great cause - see you there!
Whew, another Poynette Street Dance is in the books and it was a party to remember! Perfect weather and another great turnout. With opening act Best Practice lighting up the crowd early, it was a real pleasure to take the stage in front of our home base Gearheads. Seemed like everyone in town was there, plus many more from Madison, Deforest, Sauk, Lodi, Columbus, Portage, Arlington, Cross Plains, Barneveld and beyond. Like we always say Gearheads, we couldn't do this without you guys and you showed up Saturday in droves - thank you! Best Practice did a great job for the early crowd and warm thanks go out to them too, as well as Harmony Bar owner Mark Rowley, Harmony manager Norlinda, Frontier Bar owners Homer and Teri Hendrickson, and especially to all of the hard working staff members who busted it all night long at both bars. Finally we have to thank our two-man production crew, Tracy Roudebush and Lee Blum for putting in a long, hot day and doing such a fine job on lights and sound - thanks guys, outstanding! Check out some fun pics from the show on our Photos page.
Well gang, if you didn't get enough of the Rockin' Country at the Poynette Street Dance, then how about you join us this Saturday night, August 3rd, for our 9:00 p.m. show at the Arlington Fireman's Festival? It's been a few years since we played Arlington Fest and we are raring to go. It's Tim's hometown, after all - let's party!
